- Payson, AZ
Couples who want the ceremony, the reception and their out-of-town guests' hotel rooms handled in one building, without lining up outside vendors.
What stands out
This is the only full hotel-and-casino property in Payson. The Event Center runs to roughly 9,000 square feet and can hold around 500 guests, and the smaller Fireside Room is built for a more intimate gathering instead. In-house catering covers buffet and plated menus with a banquet coordinator to plan around.
What to watch for
This is a working casino and hotel first and a wedding venue second, so expect gaming noise and foot traffic outside your event room, and smoke in the shared public areas. Public reviews are almost entirely from hotel and casino guests rather than wedding couples, so read them as a guide to the rooms and staff, not to how a wedding actually runs here.
What couples report
Public reviews of the Mazatzal are dominated by casino and hotel guests, not wedding couples, so what we're reading is room and service feedback rather than wedding feedback. Guests repeatedly describe the rooms as bigger and cleaner than the price would suggest, and staff as friendly, which matters if you're housing your wedding party on site. The recurring complaints are smoke from the casino floor reaching dining areas, older gaming equipment, and service that varies by staff member. None of it is about weddings directly, so treat it as background on the property, not a verdict on the event space.
