A small ceremony or reception of 64 or fewer in a real historic church, with your own caterer.

What stands out

The building is the Casa Grande Stone Church, built across 1926 and 1927 from fieldstone gathered out of the surrounding desert, designed by Los Angeles architect Robert Orr and laid up by local mason Michael Sullivan. It has been on the National Register since June 1978. The hall is 38 by 68 feet with a large stage at the north end, climate control, a sound system and stage lighting.

What to watch for

Sixty four seated is the real limit, and it is set by how many chairs they own, so there is no stretching it. There is no kitchen, so your caterer has to work off four six foot service tables. Alcohol is allowed but the museum will not state the conditions in writing, so settle that on the phone. Parking is public street parking in front of the building rather than a private lot, and the museum runs a September to May season with short hours, which affects when staff are available.

What couples report

The 4.6 rating you will see across roughly 143 Google reviews and 41 Tripadvisor reviews is for the museum, not for the hall. Those reviewers came to see exhibits and talk to docents, and they praise the collection, the staff and the stone building itself. The recurring gripe is the short season and limited opening hours. Heritage Hall has no listing on The Knot, WeddingWire or Zola and no couple review record we could find, so judge it on the building and the terms rather than on stars.

Commonly praised

  • A genuine 1920s fieldstone church, on the National Register since 1978
  • You can use any caterer and any vendors you like
  • Sound system, wireless microphone and stage lighting are included
  • Eight 8ft rounds, 64 chairs and four service tables come with the hall

Recurring complaints

  • 64 seated is a hard ceiling set by the chair inventory
  • No kitchen, no getting ready room and no outdoor space
  • The ratings you find online are museum visitors, not couples
